Too Late for Gaia?

Not a cheery week. 86 year old James Lovelock, who penned Gaia, a New Look at Life on Earth back in 1979 now tells us, “I’m naturally an optimist, but I think our chances are pretty grim. I tend to think, and so do my friends in the climate community, that there isn’t time for the right sort of adjustments to take place. I will be surprised if we do get through this century without civilization having to move up to the arctic basin. I think the world is going to become pretty uninhabitable.”
